A little delayed :)

Sorry for not updating as much as I should have, but having an 18-month old is a little tiring. Here is the latest updates on Mollie:
20lbs 4oz (5%)
30 1/4" (8%)
and her head is like the 65%...big head, big brains.

And yes Mollie is finally walking. She started about 3 weeks ago (thanks to Aunt Jill) and hasn't stopped since. She's had a stomach bug and now she's dealing with croup...nothing is ever normal at our house.

She had a great Chanukkah...lots of new toys, books, puzzles and clothes. She loved opening all of them.

Happy 2009!!

Seriously, again?

I swear, sometimes I feel that Mollie is always sick! Yesterday when I got home from work, Harry told me that Mollie has been very clingy since waking up from her nap. Didn't think anything of it, since she is usually like that every once and awhile.

We ordered chinese food and Mollie was refusing to eat anything. She did like the broth of the soup, so I gave her some of that with rice. And she seemed to have enjoyed that. After dinner, she was sitting on my lap, gagged on something and threw up all over me, and proceeded to rub her head in it. Harry and I got her undressed and in the bath (not before she threw up on him also). After the bath, she was like a different child...very happy, laughing, talking, etc. We gave her a bottle with her medicine in it and I put her down at 8:00.

Harry and I were in our room at 10:00 and we heard her moaning. I went in there, picked her up and she threw up all over herself and her bed. It was LOVELY!!! We got her cleaned up, stripped her bed (threw them in the washing machine) and she laid down in bed with us. Harry moved her into the other room around 12:00. At 2:00, she was having a hard time sleeping, so I got some Motrin for her, got it in her and she slept in our bed until about 7:30.

This poor baby! I'm taking her to the doctor tomorrow, so I'm hoping that they will find at least something to give her and back her better.

PS-We went this morning to the doctor and all it is is a virus. Right now she's been asleep since 8:00 with NO PROBLEMS!!!

Construction All Done!!!

I think we are all done with construction in our house for awhile. First, it was the kitchen and Mollie had to eat all of her meals in the family room. Then, it was the bedroom across from hers and she smelled paint for 2 days and finally it's the den that she has been kicked out of since Monday morning. Well, we are finally done and she is playing with her toys in the den. But now, she's looking at the sunroom and pointing to it...so, I'm thinking that she had been enjoying playing in there.

She hasn't been sleeping for the past 2 weeks and when she doesn't sleep, neither do we. I took her to the doctor on Tuesday, just to make sure that there is nothing wrong with her. Dr. King checked her ears, her mouth, nose, everything...there is nothing wrong with her! (Which I already knew). Dr. King suggested that some kids just need some medication to fall asleep, so he told me to give her Benadryl every night. Well, the past 2 nights, she has slept almost 11 hours. I think it's working. But he said that we should only do it this week and next week. Harry goes out of town the first week of November, so I will start sleep training her then....hopefully, it won't get too stressful for me!

Mollie is starting to stand up by herself for a few seconds at a time. But whenever anyone gets excited about her doing it, she sits down, so I think her first step will be when no one is looking!

We will update another time!

Not Much New

Hey everyone! I don't have much to write about. No big news because you know I would post right away when my child finally decides that she wants to walk...which she hasn't!!! She has taken one or two steps but that's only when she's lunging toward the table or the couch. She really has no interest in it, but at least I know she CAN do it...she just WON'T!

Harry and I are going to New York on October 29th for our anniversary and Mollie is staying at Mimi and Poppy's house. Oh she's going to have SO MUCH FUN!! I'll try to post some new pictures of Mollie whenever I take some of her :)

15-Month Appointment

Sorry it's been so long since I lasted posted, but Mollie hasn't really been doing anything new to report on. Just being her cute little self :)

We had her 15-month appointment yesterday and her are all of her new stats:
19 lbs 4 oz (5%)
28 3/4" (10%)
46 cent. head (60%) Aunt Jill thinks that because her head is so much bigger than the rest of her, that's the reason she's not walking...interesting.

Not much else to report from her. We had her new room painted pink (we aren't moving her into the room for another 1 1-1/2 years, but we got a good deal on the painting and went ahead with it). And we painted her bathroom too.

Much love,
Rachel, Harry and Mollie

Newest Update

Hey everyone! We have had some fun couple of weeks. Most of our friends are back in school (including Mollie's Mimi), so we have found things to do on our own. The past couple of weeks, I have been taking her to a friend's house where she has a baby-sitter and I am able to go to work for a couple of hours while Mollie gets to play with her friend, Davis.

Last Saturday night, we had our kitchen revealed to our friends. Everyone brought the kids over and we ate dinner and the kids had so much fun playing together. While most of Mollie's friends are walking around her, she is quite happy looking at them and crawling on her way. She will get there, I know.

She is holding my hands and walking with me, so I'm hoping that it is a start for her to start to learn that she can do it on her own. She is having so much using her sign language and learning her limits on things that she can do and can't do. She doesn't realize the things that she can't do, and she gets quite angry with me when I tell her so.

Her next doctor's appointment is on September 15th, but I'm sure I will post more before then.

Much love,
Rachel, Harry & Mollie

Weekend Update

This past weekend was very busy for me, as it was the weekend before school was starting. I worked Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Mollie got to spend all weekend with her daddy! They always have so much fun together. I know that she always eats, sleeps and plays better when he's home than when she's with me.

Mollie is using her sign language so much more now. She uses the motion for more, please and sometimes thank you. She is just so cute and funny. If I am not wearing any shoes, she tries to tickle my feet and says "tickle tickle tickle". And anytime music comes on, she will do her dancing moves. Cracks us up!

That's all for now...

13-Month Appointment

Mollie had her doctor appointment FINALLY! It's been put off first because she was sick and then the nurse that was seeing her for the research study was sick yesterday, so we finally had it today. All they had to do was take some blood out of her arm. But I asked them to weigh her anyways. With clothes and a diaper, my baby weighs 18lbs, 4oz, so we are considering her weighing 18 pounds....we are so close to that 20lb mark! Can't wait to turn her seat around and be able to see her without the mirror.

Nothing else to report...I have a very busy weekend with it being tax-free weekend at work. Mollie is spending Thursday with Mimi and Allie. Friday, Saturday and Sunday she can spend all day with her daddy.

Talk to everyone soon!

All Well Again!

Last Thursday night, Mollie had a fever of 100.5. No biggie or so I thought. She woke up Friday morning with the fever a little elevated to 101.5. She spent the day with her daddy and he spent the day going between Tylenol and Motrin. I got met them for dinner and she was a little cooler but was not interested in dinner. I brought her home, checked her temperture again and it was 102.5. I gave her some Motrin and put her down for the night.

She woke up Saturday morning HOT! Her temperture was up to 103.7. Harry took her to the doctor (thank goodness they are open on Saturdays!). It ended up that Mollie had a viral infection and they couldn't give her anything for it except what we were doing. Her fever continued the rest of the day and all day Sunday. Her fever broke Sunday night sometime during the night.

She woke up Monday morning in a good mood. We went for our walk, met up with Stacey, Presley and Emma for breakfast and I noticed that her neck had broken out into a rash. I knew right away what it was...she had Roseola. So, the Roseola went through her body. She woke up this morning (Thursday) and she is Roseola and fever free!

We are going to her 13-month appointment on Monday. I will update with all of the measurements.

Mini Update

Not much going on with Mollie. We spent the past week trying to stay out of our kitchen and Mollie was doing a great job at it, but I know she was getting frustrated that she was eating breakfast, lunch and dinner in the den!

We did finish our kitchen and I will post pictures when it is completly done. It looks beautiful and we are very excited that it's all done. Mollie has her 13 month doctor appointment on Thursday, so when that's over, I will post her updates.

I bought Mollie's flower girl dress for her uncle's wedding and I'm so excited that she will be wearing a beautiful dress in one year, one month and one day (yes, that's how much longer til the wedding!)

She's talking up a storm, cruising the ottoman in the den and eating up a storm!

I'll update more on Thursday.

July 4th Weekend

We had such a fun long weekend. On Friday (July 4th) Harry went to work while Mollie and I stayed home. He came home at 4:00 and I had to start getting ready for dinner. We had my parents (Eileen & Milton or to Mollie - Mimi and Poppy), the Cohens (Jill, Gideon, Nathan & Ryan) and the Zuckermans (Stacey, Mark, Presley & Emma) over for Shabbat dinner. We grilled steaks, corn on the cob, green beans and a salad. The Zuckermans brought over a yummy dessert. Mollie didn't enjoy the fireworks because they were keeping her awake, so she really didn't go to sleep until 10:00.
On Saturday (July 5th) we just hung out at home in the morning so Mollie could get a good nap before we went to Ethan Efrat's 1st birthday party. Mollie had so much fun playing with her friends! We came home, fed Mollie dinner and then Harry went to a movie. She was such a fun girl last night, but she did end up going to sleep at 8:00 and slept all night.
Today, Sunday (July 6th), we ate breakfast and Mollie took a nap from 8:30 to 10:30. Mollie and I went to Daniel's 1st birthday party while Harry waited at home for our new cooktop to arrive. I will give more information about that later. Mollie again had a great time with all of her friends. I think this was the most time she has spent with them!
Our little girl is having so much fun everyday. She's been doing so much exploring and testing her environment. She's learning new sign language and actually using them. I will update later on this week.

Funny Little Story

I wasn't meaning to post anything until after this weekend, but I just wanted to tell everyone a funny story about our little girl. I was working at someone's house today and Mollie was playing on the floor. She had her pacifier in her mouth and was talking up a storm. I looked at her and said, "I can't understand what you're saying. Please take paci out of your mouth and talk to me." She looked right at me, took out her pacifier and started talking away! Her favorite time right now, is sitting on the floor with all her toys around her and playing with every single one of them.

I'll update more after this weekend.

All Better!

After a few days on the medicine, Mollie is all back to normal. She will be on the medicine until next Sunday.

Mollie got to spend some quality time with her daddy this past weekend. I had to be at work on Friday, Saturday and today (Sunday). She had a great time with him. She stood up for 1 minute by herself and held onto his hands and walked a little bit. She's becoming such a big girl!

I will update after July 4th weekend. It's going to be pretty busy!

Sick, sick & sick

Wednesday morning at 4:30am, Mollie woke up with a fever of 101.1. I gave
her some Motrin and she kind of went back to sleep until about 6:30. For the
rest of day, it went up and down. She had her nighttime bottle and Harry put her
down to sleep at 8:00. I was going to wake her up at 9:30 to get more medicine
in her. Instead, Mollie woke herself up, threw up on me 4 times in 1 minute and
then proceeded to throw up on Harry 3 times in another minute. We called 911 and
the ambulance came and brought Mollie and I to the hospital (Harry followed us).
We got to the hospital at 10:15 and got home at 1:00am.

While we were at the hospital, her fever went up to 103.7 and then they got
it down to 102.9. She has double ear infection and is on antibiotics to make my
baby all better.

She had a good day today. The only time that she had a fever was this
morning but the rest of the day it was down. But that was with switching between
Motrin and Tylenol. I know that she will get all better soon!

I promise my next post will be with better news about my little
monkey.

Pictures on Sunday

Hey everyone!
Mollie took her 12 month pictures (I know Michael, 1 year) yesterday and they took 107 pictures! I would post all of them because they were so good, but I know some people would get a little annoyed with it. If you would like to see all of them, I will be happy to email them to you.
She did a great job with all of them and it looked like she posed for alot of them.

We went to Mollie's best friend's birthday party yesterday. Mollie played on the swing, took a ride in a little car and played on the floor with the other kids. She had so much fun! Again, she had SO much fun with the birthday cake. And no, it didn't get in her hair.

I'm just watching the show Mad About You and it's the one where Jamie gives birth and it just brings back so many memories of having Mollie. It's amazing how fast a year has gone by! Just remember everyone, ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING!

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

So somebody mentioned to me last night that this should be named Mollie's Second Year, but I didn't figure out how to change it, so it will just have to be this way for awhile until I figure it out.

Today, we had a very exciting day. We went on MARTA to Centennial Olympic Park and watched all the big kids play in the fountains. We walked over to the CNN center for lunch. Harry met us over there and Mollie ate so well (cheese quesadila). We came home and Mollie only had a 30 minute nap before we had to her 1 year doctor appointment.

HERE IS THE UPDATE:
Mollie is 27 inches long. (5%)
Mollie is 17lbs 2oz (little less than 5%)
Mollie's head is 44cm (20%)
Dr. King said that she can start on whole milk (mainly for her to gain weight), but she should only have about 18oz a day. He is was very happy with her development.

When we got home, Mollie stood by herself for 2 seconds (literally 2 seconds)!

I'll post more at the end of the week.

Mollie's 1st Birthday

Harry and I are very happy to announce that our baby girl (Mollie) had her first birthday this past Friday (the 13th). It started last Sunday, June 8th, with a great birthday party at our house. We thought it was going to rain, but it ended up being a beautiful day out. Hot enough for a lot of people to enjoy the pool. Mollie was very excited that her Uncle Marc, Grandmother Joan, Grandfather Barrie and Uncle Larry came in from out of town to celebrate with her.

We continued to enjoy the rest of the week with Marc's "friend" came in town on Wednesday night. On Thursday afternoon, Marc and his "friend" Shosh, GOT ENGAGED! We all had lunch at Twist at Phipps Plaza and continued to celebrate with them at a dinner at the Silberstein house.

On Mollie's actually birthday, Mollie woke up at the same time she was born at 6:58 am. She played in her mommy and daddy's bed until it was time for us to go on our walk and breakfast. She had a very long nap and then we went to the Silberstein house for Shabbat dinner. Marc and Shosh made a DELICIOUS dinner of veggie and tofu stir-fry. I was very proud of my brother for being in the kitchen making dinner! Mimi bought Mollie, Ryan and Nathan a cupcake and they all enjoyed it.

On Father's Day, the whole family met for breakfast at The Flying Biscuit. It was a chance for us to celebrate together and to say good-bye to Marc and Shosh. We won't see Marc until next year, so of course I burst into tears when I told him good-bye. We are so proud of him and can't wait to hear what he is learning, seeing and experiencing.

Updates on Mollie:
She is crawling EVERYWHERE!
She is pulling up on EVERYTHING!
She is talking up a STORM!
She is giving kisses to EVERYONE!
And she is just as cute as can be!

I will update after Tuesday when her 1 year appointment is.
